New Business Assistance with NEIS is a government initiative to help budding entrepreneurs, who meet the NEIS program eligibility, get their business idea off the ground.

When you apply to for New Business Assistance with NEIS through Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs, we help you with the application process, and provide access to ongoing training, support and mentoring as you establish your business.

  • A Business Development Diary to help you clarify your business ideas and objectives before and during your NEIS journey.
  • Relevant business training delivered in over 3 weeks.
  • Help to develop your business plan and two year financial forecast.
  • Access to our expert business coaches who will share knowledge and deliver meaningful mentoring through those critical first twelve months of your business.
  • The opportunity to complete accredited small business training with up to 39 weeks NEIS allowance and 26 weeks NEIS Rental Assistance for eligible participants.*

Christine has a wealth of business experience in management of all back-end accounts & admin including payroll, invoicing, systems & processes, and business transitions and exits which she has gained from a variety of industries including the family road construction business, bookkeeper and account manager, life and business coach, professional organiser and networking facilitator. Chris has worked with a range of businesses including building & construction industry, childcare centres and migration agents. Chris has worked as a Community College teacher lecturing in TechSavvy Seniors, MYOB, Starting a Small Business, and corporate training and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, is a member of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) and is a Distinguished Toastmaster. Chris’ passion is to empower business owners to balance life & business, especially understanding the numbers to make timely and effective business decisions for their business.

New Business Assistance with NEIS

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?

Before completing a NEIS application, you’ll need to check the eligibility conditions below to see if you, or your business, can apply for the NEIS program.

PERSONAL ELIGIBILITY

Individuals who apply for New Business Assistance with NEIS must:

  • be at least 18 years of age when they commence NEIS Assistance
  • be available to participate in NEIS Training and work the required hours in the proposed NEIS Business
  • be eligible to work in Australia
  • not be an overseas visitor on a working holiday visa or an overseas student studying in Australia
  • not be an undischarged bankrupt
  • not have participated in NEIS in the past year

BUSINESS ELIGIBILITY

The business you want to establish with New Business Assistance must:

  • not currently be operating in a commercial basis (if applying as a new business)
  • be independent, be capable of withstanding public scrutiny, and be lawful
  • be assessed as commercially viable
  • be able to obtain insurance
  • controlled, managed and physically located in Australia

If you’re applying as an , you must be a micro business seeking to refocus the business to adapt to economic pressures created by COVID-19.

NEIS Payments

INCOME SUPPORT

You may be eligible to receive financial support via NEIS Allowance if you receive an Income Support payment from Services Australia or the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) before transferring to the NEIS Allowance.

The NEIS allowance is available for up to 39 weeks. You may also be eligible to receive NEIS Rental Assistance for up to 26 weeks.
